Drain-Valve
The drain-valve was developed around 1987 to improve the quality of the start block of Maxfoam machines. At the start of a foam production run the various streams enter the mixing head according to a fixed sequence. The chemicals enter the mixing chamber, which is filled with air only. This air will partly be pushed out of the mixing chamber, whilst another part will be mixed with the entering chemicals. However, this mixing will be incomplete, causing large air bubbles and splits in the start piece of a production run. Another reason for splits in the start piece can be the unbalanced chemicals entering the mixing chamber due to a pre-set sequence for the various streams.

Formulating software

The FFS Formulating Software has been an ongoing development since 1977, when the effect of the altitude (atmospheric pressure) was very significant during commissionings of Maxfoam machines in Nairobi, Amman, Bogota, Johannnesburg etc.

The Formulating Software now consists of a comprehensive spreadsheet program in Excel 2000. The spreadsheet model allows for simultaneous display of a large quantity of data and can be modified or adapted to specific wishes relatively easily.

RS-6 System

The abbreviation RS stands for Rectangular Section.
The RS system is a further development of the patented Draka Square Block System and has been redesigned for the Maxfoam/Varimax process and the Petzetakis process on Conventional machines.

On Conventional machines, the RS side pulling equipment is used in combination with so-called Petzetakis Forks to square the off the pronounced dome of the conventional foam block. The Petzetakis Process or U-3 Process (RS + Forks) is predominantly used for polyester foam, where other squaring systems such as Draka Square Block and Planiblock Top Control fail to perform at all.
See the page about the Petzetakis System for further detailed information.

On Maxfoam/Varimax machines, the RS side pulling equipment is used without additional equipment to square off the top of the already relatively square foam block.
This following part will deal with RS on Maxfoam only.

Pre-Mixer
The Pre-Mixer distributes the injected nucleating air finely into a mixture of polyol and surfactant, thereby eliminating the possibility of creating pinholes by poor mixing of the nucleation air in the standard mix head.
Pinholes (up to 4-mm dia) and air holes (over 4-mm dia) can be a reason for rejects in critical applications of flexible foam.

Petzetakis System
The Petzetakis System, also called the U-3 System in the past, was developed to reduce the dome of flexible foam blocks made by the Conventional Process. Quickly it turned out to be the only system which gives excellent results with polyester foams. The Petzetakis System consists of a set of (Petzetakis) Forks and RS-6 Pulling units.

Custom made equipment

Custom made equipment such as melamine powder mixing units, powder slurry conditioning tanks can be engineered to the demands of the end user.

Top class paper guide rollers can be custom made, to replace the worn-out or poorly designed original guide rollers. Fatigue testers, dual & single samples, can be build according to ISO standards.
